Path: Transactions > Work Order > Records / Identity Tab
The Request Date reflects one of two dates. If the work order is converted from the Request Log window, the Request Date field shows the date of the original request. If the work order is created from the Work Order window, the field shows the date and time the record was saved.
When you create a work order, the date and time fields default to the date and time of the local computer clock. You can type a date or click the calendar icon to select a different date. You can also replace the time with one of your choosing. Past or future dates and times may be selected.
The difference between the contents of the Request Date field and the current date is reflected in the read-only Lapse Time field on the Identity–More Info Subtab. This tells you exactly how many days and hours have elapsed between the time the request was initiated and the work order was closed. If the work order is not closed, the field continues to accumulate time until you enter a date in the Completion Date field.
The Request Date field on PM work orders is based on the date the PM is generated.
