WO Type Field

The WO Type field identifies the type of work order, such as project-related, PM-related, security-related, etc. The default entry is based on the selected setting on the Repair Center / Identity Tab WO Type field). Use the down arrow to select a different work order type.

If you specify PM as the type, the system checks for a matching PM schedule based on task code, location ID, and tag number. This applies to work orders for all maintenance-worthy items such as equipment, biomed equipment, vehicles, assets, areas, groups, entities, and tools.

If you attempt to manually create a work order for an item that is on a PM schedule, a message alerts you. This gives you the option to cancel the work order being created.

To maintain the PM status of auto-generated PM work orders, do not change the WO Type, item, or Task Code on these work orders. WebTMA alerts you if you attempt to save such changes with a message saying, "Changing work order type, item, or task code will disconnect from the PM Schedule and affect reports. Do you wish to proceed?" 'Yes' clears the PM information from the work order. 'No' discards changes.
