Request Field on WO

Path: Transactions > Work Order > Records / Identity Tab

Add information to the free-form Request field to supplement instructions about the work to be done. Text entered in the Request field appears on the printed work order in the Action Requested section.

Click the time stamp Btn_TimeStamp icon to add a time stamp. The user name, date, and time is added at the beginning of this field. The logged in user's date preference is followed, and you can type information directly after the time stamp as well. The icon is only available in Add or Edit mode.

In some circumstances, the text in the Task window Description field can automatically populate the Request field. This is true if both the following conditions are met:

WebTMA automatically adds the text in the Task record Description field when the conditions apply. If the Request field has existing text, the description is appended to it with a space before and after.

This applies to all Work Order windows (single task, multi-task, and quick).

In View mode, an Exp Btn_Exp button displays adjacent to the Request field for single task and multi-task work orders. Click the Exp button to view the contents of the Request field in a separate viewing window for easier reading.
