WO Finish Dates

When a task is done but there are still outstanding issues such as paperwork, you can mark it as 'finished.' WebTMA includes two Finish Date fields. The fields are found on both the Add Task window and the More Info Subtab. The Add Task finish date informs you of actions performed by technicians. The More Info finish date is used for reports and calculations.

When you add or edit a task line, you can enter the finish date for the task. See How to Finish a Task for instructions about adding a finish date to a task. In cases where you assign one task to several technicians, each technician can update the task line with a new finish date.

The system looks to the task line Finish Date field to display information at the lower right of the page. For example, suppose a single task with one technician is finished but a finish date is not entered for the task. In this case, the page does not display the word "Finished" even if the More Info Subtab Finish Date field is completed.

The Finish Date field on the More Info Subtab shows the final date when all technicians have completed their work but other paperwork or actions are pending before the work order is closed. This is the only date used for aging reports or to calculate the Lapse Time (Finish) value.

See Work Order Completion for information about fully closing a work order.
