How to Convert Allocated Parts on WO

When Allocated Parts are actually used and chargeable, you can convert the line item.

Not all items must be converted. The quantity converted is subtracted from the Allocated column on the window. The quantity used is listed with a cost on the work order Costs–Material Subtab. If you do not use all the allocated parts, any remaining allocations are removed and the line item set to zero when you close the work order (i.e., when the completion date is added and the work order is saved).

When the part allocation has a balance of zero indicating the part was already added or the work order is closed, a click on the Convert link generates an error message.

Items are converted in View mode.

1. Open the applicable work order record.
2. Click the Schedule Tab–Allocated Part Subtab.
3. Select a part line item.
4. Click the Convert link at the top of the Allocated Parts grid. The Convert Part popup window opens.

5. Complete the required fields: Technician, Start Date/Time, and Quantity.
6. Click the Save button on the window to close the window and return to the Allocated Part Subtab.
