Lookup Failure Codes

Path: Organization > Lookups > Failure Codes

Use Failure Codes to define the terms that identify various types of failure to complete a job.

Examples: defective part, fuse blown

This Lookups window also provides the means to generate corrective PM work orders. The following conditions must be true to trigger corrective work orders:

You have several options when completing this Lookup window to prompt the user to create a corrective work order:

* All fields are required with some exceptions for Trade, which is also required if Client Info / Preference is set to Force a Trade for Each Task.

When a PM work order is marked as Failed PM and either a Finish or Completion Date is entered, WebTMA enables a Correct Failure? check box on the Work Order Labor Entry window or the Work Order Add Task popup to create a corrective work order.

After you mark the Correct Failure? check box and click Save on the WebTMA toolbar, a Failure WO popup displays, "Do you wish to create a work order to correct the failure(s) at this time?" Click OK if you want to create a corrective work order for this failure.

The behavior of the corrective work order depends on the information available in the Failure Code selected. If both the Corrective WO section and the Manual Corrective WO check box are empty on the Failure Code selected, WebTMA Saves a copy of the original work order, which you can revise in Edit mode as needed. This is also the behavior when the Failure Code has Corrective WO information completed and the Manual Corrective WO check box is empty.

If you use a Failure Code with only the Manual Corrective WO check box marked or with the Manual Corrective WO check box marked and the Corrective WO information partially completed, a new corrective work order opens in Add mode with the original information except the following fields: WO Type, Priority, Request, and (possibly) Task.

These display the data specified on the Failure Code window. If a Corrective Task is selected in the Failure Codes window, the tasks on the new corrective work order are cleared and replaced with the Corrective Task from the Failure Code window. The task on the new work order uses the Trade specified on the Failure Code window. If no Trade has been entered, WebTMA uses the Trade on the Task record for the specified Corrective Task.

If neither the Failure Code window nor the Task window has a Trade, the Task on the new work order will not have a Trade.

Enter a value in the Days to Complete field to specify a time frame to complete the corrective work order.
